I have been a part of the vibrant Middle School community at Redlands College since 2006. After completing undergraduate studies at the University of Adelaide, I undertook postgraduate studies with Professor Wolfgang Meyer at the renowned Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe, Germany, and have recently completed a PhD on the clarinet studies of Alfred Uhl. From offering high quality on-campus housing in our modern apartments to providing game-day excitement with our men's and women's teams, this is no ordinary two-year school. As Director of Years 6-9, I am passionate about seeing our Middle School continue to be a thriving community, that is built on strong relationships between staff, parents and students and seeks, in every way, to form our students in to young men and women who will positively and powerfully impact our world. I am passionate about teaching and also serve as a teacher in a Year 5 classroom in a part time capacity. Throughout my journey I have had a successful international career that has taken me to all parts of the world performing as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician, and teacher. In my role as Director of Students Years P - 5, I am responsible for fostering the culture, learning and care of students in the upper Junior School and with my colleagues, I endeavour to develop positive partnerships with students, parents and staff to foster an encouraging, challenging learning environment that focuses on the development of the whole person. It has been a privilege to be a teacher at Redlands College for the past 23 years, during which I have taught in Years 4, 5, 6, and 7 and have gathered a vast amount of experience in education. My goal as the Director of Sport and Activities is to build high self-esteem and resilience in all of our students. I have been blessed to have been a member of the Redlands College community since 2011, when I was appointed as the Senior School History Coordinator. I first began teaching at Redlands College in 1996. Plus, all classes are taught by the full professor: there are no graduate-student teachers. On top of that, I have absolutely loved being part of a range of extra-curricular groups here at the College, including our thriving Duke of Edinburgh's Award program, Middle School student-led worship teams, and a range of sporting teams. Since then I have held a number of different roles in the school including Head of House (Finnegan), Senior School Legal Studies Coordinator and Senior School Uniform Coordinator.
