The Nevada National Security Site (N2S2 or NNSS), known as the Nevada Test Site (NTS) until August 23, 2010, is a United States Department of Energy (DoE) reservation located in southeastern Nye County, Nevada, about 65 miles (105 km) northwest of the city of Las Vegas. A couple of weeks before the visit, you'll get a packet in the mail that includes an itinerary for the trip. All tours are canceled until further notice. Participants who have been notified of a confirmation date will receive a tour package 7-10 days prior to the visit. Visitors meet in Las Vegas to board a tour bus at 7 am, returning to Las Vegas at 4:30 pm.
