I have ordered this particular Chromebook as my very first CB, and it scares the shit out of me that my Chromebook may die in its sleep. It is possible to have the motherboard repaired but it may cost about the same as Dell's replacement cost. Even if it did ruin out of power, the red battery thing won't pop up! I was thinking of installing a few Android apps, and as you know Android apps aren't backed up to the cloud. On the recovery screen that prompts me to insert flash drive containing OS, I press and hold refresh + power while simultaneously unplugging the charger. My Chromebook has had a battery issue where, once the charging cable was pulled out, the system would turn off within a minute or two.
